Stepping through a narrow door, the immense Heavenly Palace appears before you with a space on a quadrilateral plane. there are 10,000 square meters to explore, four colossal pillars that hold up the ‘roof of heaven’, bubbling streams and ever-growing stalactites and stalagmites, interleaving shimmering lights create a splendid, magical space like heaven. In here, legend has it, that beautiful young lady named Mây (cloud), caught the eye of the Dragon Prince and he fell in love with her. They were betrothed, and their wedding lasted seven days and seven nights in the very centre of the grotto, attended by gods, genies, fairies and dragons (images of these guests are still identified among the stalactites and stalagmites that fill the cavernous halls). May and the Dragon King raised 100 children, and all the while they called the cave home. That is a part historical stampof the Lac Long Quan legend - the ancestor of the Vietnamese people. As you exit the cave you’ll be at an impressive vantage point that overlooks the whole of the bay, and then a short trek will take you back down a set of stairs to return to your cruise.
